Around the World Virtual Classrooms

Big Five Target(s): Culture, Tolerance

I like to use these classrooms as part of our daily routine as a bellringer activity at the start of class. Each week we *visit* a new country. I post the virtual classroom on our class website page for students to explore on their own throughout the week. I also incorporate the theme into other content we use throughout the week.

Digital Student Planning System | Student Planner

Big Five Target(s): Growth

LitCom | i.e. Literacy Community

Big Five Target(s): Tech Literacy, Growth

I designed LitCom for my classroom as a way to create purpose for writing. My school requires CRQs [constructed response questions] be assigned every week, for every subject. As the special education teacher, helping my students complete these CRQs has been one of my biggest struggles. Weekly LitCom sessions provide students a place and audience to share their writing [besides their teacher]. It also provides them a growth opportunity, allowing them a chance to evaluate each others work and accept feedback.
